Review: Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro
The Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro brings a headline feature no other wireless earbuds offer at this price: 24-bit/96kHz ultra-high-resolution audio support. For users with Galaxy phones and hi-res music library access, this is audiophile-grade sound delivered wirelessly.
Hi-Res Audio
The bezel-less woofer design expands the speaker’s vibrating surface area compared to conventional speaker configurations. Combined with 24-bit/96kHz codec support, bass extension is deeper and more controlled than competing earbuds at this price. In our listening tests with FLAC recordings, the Buds 4 Pro reproduced low-frequency detail (bass guitar notes, sub-bass kick drum) with clarity that $229 earbuds haven’t previously achieved.
Galaxy Ecosystem Integration
Automatic switching between Galaxy phones, tablets, and watches uses Samsung’s improved Bluetooth handoff — reliably fast at 1–2 seconds. SmartThings integration enables the earbuds to function as a smart home hub: detecting nearby SmartThings devices and passing audio through their microphones for ambient awareness. Galaxy AI features include live translation and note-taking assistance via the Samsung Keyboard.
ANC Performance
The 6-mic ANC system performs well in our tests — roughly 80% noise reduction, slightly behind AirPods Pro 3 and Sony XM6. Adequate for commuting and office use; not quite the equal of the category leaders in very loud environments.
Verdict
Galaxy Buds 4 Pro is the recommendation for Samsung Galaxy phone users — the hi-res audio, seamless switching, and Galaxy AI features justify the choice over AirPods. For Android users without Galaxy phones, Sony XM6 is the better pick.
